The facility you work for also plays a part in how much you're paid as a sterile process technician. Those that work in hospitals reported making around $16.00 an hour and those that work in doctors' private offices reported making around $14.00 an hour.
Region
The area you work in also determines your salary. On average, the hourly wage that techs make in areas like Boston reported $18.00. Then those that work in Cleveland in this field reported a $15.00 hourly wage.
Considerations
To help you make more money, you can obtain a certificate through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies. When you obtain one, you can use those credentials on your resume to get a higher paying position.
