As a pet owner, it is only natural for you to want to ensure that it is as healthy as possible. The nutrition needs of pets vary widely depending upon the pet, age and size.

Pet owners must take nutritional advice from pet nutrition counselors. In this field, you will ensure that pets are being fed the right foods and in the right quantities. To get into this field, you will have to receive proper training.

Instructions

Step One: The first thing you will need to do is take classes within the field of animal health. It isn't required that you receive a certificate or degree to become a pet nutritionist, but you will need to complete classes, so that you will be able to successfully advise your clients. If you want, you can even obtain a veterinarian degree to boost your credibility.

Step Two: Now, you will need to begin feeding your own pet nutrition foods, based on what you have learned from your training. Test yourself before giving out nutritional advice to others. You should see your pet become stronger and healthier. This will also help to improve your credentials.

Step Three: Next, you will need to find a family member or friend that has a pet that doesn't have the best health. Find out what the animal is eating and inform the pet owner that their diet isn't good, no matter what the packages claim. Convince them to change the animals diet temporarily to see if any improvements in the animal's health.

Step Four: As the pet nutrition counselor, monitor the animal as he is eating his new diet. You should notice that he will become healthier and happier. Any natural problems he had should also go away, showing proof that you knew what you were talking about.
