Education Requirements
In order for you to be able to work in anesthesiology, you will have to go to medical school and complete a one year internship. Then it is required of you to complete a three year residency at medical facility.

If you would like, you can study a special area of anesthesiology. You can deal specially with obstretic anesthesiology, pediatric anesthesiology, cardiac anesthesiology, critical care medicine and neuro-anesthesiology.
Licensing
Now, that you have learned what you need to know to become an anesthesiologist, you will need to obtain a license to practice. You will have to check with your state's requirements beforehand to ensure that you meet all of the prerequisites for obtaining a license.

As of May 2008, anesthesiologists were making a median salary of $197,570 annually.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the job outlook for anesthesiology is pretty good. There will be steady growth for all areas of specialties in this field.
