Cardiac Sonographer
This type of ultrasound tech is known to use equipment that allows them to conduct cardiac exams when physicians request it. They are able to work within outpatient offices, hospitals or other health care facilities.
Education
In order to become a cardiac sonographer, you will have to attend a college or university for two years to acquire an associate's degree. You will also have to do hands on clinical training to gain experience. Once you complete the program, you will be able to obtain a state license. Check with your state to see what the requirements are beforehand. You will have to get a certificate or a license by going through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Job Outlook
Like with many health care jobs, cardiac sonography shows a lot of promise in the future. There has been predictions that there will be job security in this field. It is also expected that more jobs will continuously be added over the long term.

The median annual salary of ultra sound techs was $57,160 back in 2006. What you make will be determined by your schooling, place of employment, experience and where you live.
