Instructions
Step One: The first thing you will need to do is complete the coursework at an institution that has been approved by the Dietary Managers Association, also known as the DMA. You are also able to complete schooling at an online college. Some of the colleges that are accredited in the state of Illinois for dietary managing include Parkland College, William Rainey Harper College and Rock Valley College.
Step Two: Next, you will need to find out if you are eligible to take the national exam for licensure. Once you have completed your required training, you will have to show proof to the DMA. You can obtain your transcripts and show that as proof. You will also have to complete an application to the DMA in order to take the certification exam. Once you are approved, you will have to take the test and pass it in order to become a certified dietary manager. If you would like to take the exam before you graduate, you must be on the graduation list of your school. Otherwise, you won't be able to.
Step Three: Afterward, you will be able to register for the credential exam, once you know that you are eligible. You can get in touch with the DMA at 1-800-323-1908. If you don't receive confirmation within two weeks, you can give them a call.
