Step One: The first thing you need to do is get your transcripts prepared. If you would like to get involved in online LPN classes, you will need to have access to the academic transcripts. This can be transcripts from high school and/or college. You can provide the online institution with high school class copies if you only graduated from high school.
Step Two: Now, is the time to apply for admission to an online school. In order to gain admission to an online school, you will need to give your transcripts to the school you're looking to attend. Each school has its own criteria, so make sure to look into that beforehand. They will all look at your academic history and your willingness to attend their school in the nursing field.
Step Three: Signing up for classes is your next step. After being admitted into a licensed practical nursing program, you can begin signing up for the courses you need to take. Some of the classes you will have to partake in include pharmacology, chemistry, biology and human anatomy. During the online nursing class, you will be tested on a variety of subjects that will help you master the materials provided to you for your future LPN position.
Step Four: The last step will be to take clinical coursework. After completing your online classes you will need to meet in-person requirements. Licensed practical nurses will have to work full time inside of a hospital or other setting for a few months in order to gain experience in the field. This way you will be able to gain more knowledge about procedures and policies. You will not be able to complete an online course without conducting clinical coursework. Contact different local hospitals to see if they will work with you to complete the mandatory requirements.
